    The RoleAs the Head of Software Engineering, you will lead the team that helps design and build our low latency, event streaming, US public equities trading platform.

    This is a highly-regulated and highly-visible environment, where correctness and system performance are paramount.

    This is a hands-on role, and you'll be providing expertise, leadership, and driving strategy across core areas like distributed software systems design, and low-latency performance engineering.

    In addition to driving the continuous improvement of the existing codebase, you will also partner with the VP of Engineering, and the Head of Product on new strategic product initiatives.

    You'll regularly work with our Regulatory and Market Operations teams to keep abreast of industry initiatives, and member feedback.
    Successful at building and leading high performing engineering teams that are responsible for building software for critical infrastructure.

    Adept at leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective and humane engineering practices and culture.

    Skilled at identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the full lifecycle of a large distributed system, with prior experience in areas such as design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, monitoring and operations.

    More than 12 years of relevant working experience, with technical hands-on experience having built and supported distributed-event-driven, or event stream software systems using Core Java.

    US Equities trading software and infrastructure experience.

    Been an expert practitioner of modern software development, and has the ability to contribute to, and mentor others, on internal codebases.

    You have built and or operated low-latency, high-throughput systems (trading, ad tech, edge networking).
    You have a deep understanding of performance engineering as it pertains to both bare metal, and cloud infrastructure.
