Job Summary


The Route Sales Manager at Golden Malted plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient distribution of our delicious waffle products to our valued customers.

This position requires a dynamic individual who possesses a unique blend of sales acumen, leadership skills, and logístical expertise.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of route drivers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Monitor route sales performance and implement corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities within assigned routes.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities for upselling, crossselling, and expanding the customer base within assigned territories.
  • Cultivate strong, longlasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Lead and motivate a team of route sales representatives to achieve sales targets, adhere to company policies and procedures, and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to route drivers to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to route sales representatives to enhance their sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service abilities.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders as needed, and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste and optimize product freshness.
  • Partner with internal specialists to ensure the optimization and design of delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of waffle products to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety standards, transportation laws, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential areas for growth.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, route management, or a similar role within the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively leading and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to maintain valid DOT certifications.
  • Travel up to 75%
  • Overnight travel up to 50%
