Description
_
Looking for people who want to help us prepare for events - big and small_

  • Our event operations associate helps our team prepare for events and reset following events. This may include anything from reviewing event plans, performing site visits, getting our venues ready for the next event, creating our signature displays, setting up photo shoots, preparing for client tastings, and working on initatives to improve our operations functions. It's a robust development role that is meant to grow the right person into an Event Operations Lead and prepare you for a career in event operations._
  • This is a parttime role that often pairs with other front of house roles (driver, server, captain, venue site rep) to create a more robust schedule and experience across a wide range of event work. Our Operations Associates are prioritized for event work which comes with higher rates and event bonuses_

Why work event ops at Bite?_

We are thoughtful and process/ detail-focused with a warm approach to our clients.

We are highly process driven and thematic, so you're unlikely to run into the dysfunction and chaos that you see at other companies.

Instead, you'll be expected to take on a "lean" mindset where we write down our process, structure and solve problems, and find creative ways to get to the right answer.

For those interested in ops as a career, you get to work with a former high end strategy consultant who has deployed industry-leading operations improvements at the Fortune 500 level (with very large results).

This position is part-time but complements other part-time event roles well and can be used to fill out a schedule during the day (and get priority access to event work).

Success in this role generally looks like:

  • Experience in either off-premise catering or a large banquet facility
  • An analytical mindset that likes breaking down and solving complex problems with impactoriented solutions
  • Previous history in putting together productions (theater, event planning/ agency, music)
  • An aesthetic sense in creating displays that have height, depth, harmonious composition, and themes pushed to interesting conclusions
  • Exemplify a positive attitude and a constructive approach to dealing with realities that present themselves onsite
  • Clear and concise communication
  • Physical ability to move event equipment for significant stretches, including loading, unloading, packing, unpacking, cleaning, repairing, etc

Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to events throughout the greater Los Angeles area
  • Able to read English and follow laid out instructions and process

  • Physically Fit

  • Able to stand and work on your feet for extended hours
  • Lift 50 Lbs. waist high repeatedly
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in dynamic work environment

Compensation
Base rate of $21.50/hour. Other event roles vary from $22-$30/hr + event-related bonuses (starting at $50/event).

Work Remotely

  • No

Job Type:
Part-time

Pay:
$21.50 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Application Question(s):

  • What in our job description appealed to you? Why is a parttime ops role a good fit for you?
  • Please describe any Operations success stories in your experience. This may include things like a process you improved, a large scale event you figured out how to set up, a complex technical problem that you fixed, a site visit that nailed a complex event, a display that went viral, etc. Doing a good job executing FOH as a server or captain isn't what we're looking for here.

Experience:

  • Catering: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

  • Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) (required)

Work Location:
In person
