The Carrot Patch-Shoreline is a warm, community school with an emphasis on nature and the outdoors. We enjoy regular walking field trips to explore marshes, parks, and the town marina. Our school is located at Route 1 near the Madison/Clinton town line, and is easily accessed from I-95.
PART-TIME position is for afternoon shift. Must be available a minimum of two afternoons per week, from 12:30-5:30.
Duties
You will share all classroom responsibilities with a teaching team, including creating a Reggio-inspired classroom environment and child-centered curriculum. Our program focuses on open-ended activities that foster curiosity and creativity.
You will:
- Assist in all aspects of classroom management and activities
- Help maintain a positive environment with focus on prosocial development
- Engage in a positive manner with children, and learn their routines.
- Interact with parents in a warm, professional manner
Requirements:
- Some experience with young children, preferably in a group setting
- Energy, maturity, warmth, flexibility, strong work ethic, and enjoyment of nature
- Willing to spend time outdoors in all weather
