GridIron IT is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with an Active Secret Clearance

Location:
Ft. Meade, MD (Remote flexibility)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the senior migration architect, leading the design and implementation planning to consolidate DoD agencies' services across infrastructure, network, identity, hosting, support, and end user capabilities.
Provide hands-on engineering and technical leadership for overall migration assessment, planning, architecture, design, and implementation tasks. ?
Set standards, enhance architectures, and provide technical guidance to ensure consistent delivery and quality of service across multiple government agencies. ?
Oversee and coordinate technical migration planning activities while monitoring and managing risks. ?
Brief senior DoD / Government management on active and proposed plans, technical issues, and architectural tradeoffs.? ?
Work with the project teams to identify risks, dependencies, and propose mitigation activities to deliver migrations on schedule and within budget.? ?
Work with team leadership to develop, enhance, and implement standardized migration processes and procedures. ?
Work across team members to document migration lessons learned for continual improvement of future migration activities. ?
Drive automation capabilities that increase engineering velocity and improved service delivery

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree and 15+ years of relevant work experience, additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Experience planning and executing large/complex IT migrations and consolidations. ?
Experience with discovery, event management and ITSM tools. ?
In-depth understanding of cloud and network topologies, both transport and IP. ?
This position requires extensive writing and the selected candidate MUST have superb writing skills
