Serco-NA is seeking a motivated IT Assistant to provide support to the COLUMBIA Class program office in Washington, DC.

This program office is responsible for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation and Live Fire Test and Evaluation of the COLUMBIA Class submarine.

The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines.

The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities.

Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.


Responsibilities include:

  • Provide research and analysis to support military organizations.
  • Maintain access to various Navy networks such as NMCI, Flank Speed, Navy Virtual Desktop, government IPhone set up and troubleshooting.
  • Provide system updates to personal IT equipment.
  • Ability to manage communications for a large team that is often geographically dispersed.
  • Assist with projects and tasks at the Program Manager's direction.
  • Maintain a positive customerfocused attitude.

Qualifications:

A Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Education and required experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 02 years' experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware, software, and networks; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Professional manner and presentation skills.
  • 10% travel required.
