Reporting to the Associate Director of University Event Operations, the Events Manager is part of a team responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of University events.

The role includes supporting institutional events that are a high priority for the campus community.

Will also work to market, recruit and execute external events such as corporate meetings, social engagements, and other non-Brandeisian events.

The event manager will also have a campus constituent market segmentation assigned by departmental leadership.


Examples of Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates Brandeis affiliated events as assigned.
  • Coordinates external events for unaffiliated Brandeis clients as assigned
  • Participates in evaluating budgets and contractual provisions to determine requirements for space, location, technology, equipment, accommodations, catering and onsite management. Serves as contact between vendors and organization. Participates in negotiating contracts with vendors
  • Manages student workforce for University Event Operations (academic year), Usher Crew (commencement) and Summer Conference Assistants (summer).
  • Other duties as assigned in pursuit of the departmental goals and mission.

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience, academic setting preferred; 3+ years' experience a plus


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Diplomacy, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative nature are all essential
  • Ability to guide and consult on best event practices
  • Acute attention to detail and extremely organized
  • Preferred knowledge in 25live reservation system, Coupa/Marketplace+, and Workday

Additional Information:
Staff will serve in an on call rotation Friday-Sunday

Must be able to lift 25lbs. Some travel required. May include some evening or weekend hours. Valid drivers license and good driving record preferred.
