Monday - Thursday -> 8:00a - 2:30p

$ $43.52 Hourly

The above salary does not include an additional $60 hazard duty paid bi-weekly.

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections has a full-time vacancy for Teacher I-III Series.


SCOPE OF WORK:

Performs all the professional duties of a teacher of educationally disabled and/or educationally disadvantaged inmate students in the Corrections Special School District (CSSD) setting to both male and/or female offenders at other correctional facilities and administers, directly and indirectly, the rules and operational routines necessary for maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment while working in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis, having responsibility for security.

Ensures education program and policy requirements are met for offenders as determined through departmental, state and federal guidelines.


YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS- Under a recent change to the rules, an applicant's relevant experience now counts towards formal education degrees referenced below _See Per 405.1 _.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TEACHER I:

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university.

Statement of eligibility for NH Teacher Certification, issued by the NH Department of Education, Bureau of Credentialing, may be substituted for the formal education required by this class specification.


EXPERIENCE:
No experience required.

LICENSE/


CERTIFICATION:
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be appropriately certified, or eligible for certification through a statement of eligibility, by the NH Department of Education, Bureau of Credentialing in one of the following areas:
#0500 English (5-12), #1100 Mathematics or #1900 General Special Education. NH Department of Education, Bureau of Credentialing certifications in other secondary content areas may be considered.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Successful completion of the Corrections Academy and continuing certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority.


TEACHER II:

EXPERIENCE:
Six years' experience as a certified educator.

Experience as a certified educator may include employment as a teacher, specialist, or administrator, per NH State Law and Administrative Rules.

LICENSE/


CERTIFICATION:
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be appropriately certified, or eligible for certification through a statement of eligibility, by the NH Department of Education, Bureau of Credentialing in one of the following areas:
#0500 English (5-12), #1100 Mathematics or #1900 General Special Education. NH Department of Education, Bureau of Credentialing certifications in other secondary content areas may be considered.
