Senior Software Engineer in Aurora, Colorado is available with GeoLogics top Aerospace & Defense company. In this job you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in Java. To qualify for this job you will have an active Department of Defense Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.
Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in (STEM) and 5+ years relevant or equivalent experience
Software development experience using Java or other object-oriented software language.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Java strongly preferred.
Experience with C++ and Python.
Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.
Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.
Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.
Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite

Additional Details

Title: Senior Software Engineer (US Citizenship REQUIRED)
Clearance: Active Secret
Location: Aurora, Colorado No relocation package)
Pay Range: $80/hr - $90.84/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract-an hour worked is an hour paid)
Type: W2 hourly Contract (40 hrs), No 1099, No third parties, No C2C
Duration: This position will transition to a full time, direct hire with our customer.
