    SMS is seeking two Information Assurance Engineers to assist our busy AF 688th contract at Lackland AFB.


    The position requires talented engineers with RMF experience, a CISSP or CAP certification and holds an active TS/SCI security clearance.

    Responsibilities


    Provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) support and establishes and satisfies complex system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.

    Provide guidance to customers at the highest levels in policy development and implementation.


    Acts as the subject matter expert providing RMF support for the 688 CW Assessment and Authorization (A&A) program (20+ systems).

    Maintain a system-level program that includes cyber security architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, processes and procedures.

    Develop and maintain a Wing-wide A&A digital repository for all organizational or system-level cyber security-related documentation.


    Ensure IA security controls are implemented consistent with DoD and DoD Component IA architectures and standards, employing system and software engineering methodologies, security engineering principles, and secure information assurance techniques.


    Assess security controls in accordance with the security assessment plan and DoD assessment procedures, documenting compliance as part of the overall security control assessment.

    Review, verify, and assemble final security authorization package for approval. Continuously monitors entire A&A portfolio for security- relevant events and configuration changes that impact system security posture.


    Assess the quality of security controls implementation against performance indicators, such as: security incidents; feedback from external inspection agencies (e.g., OIG DoD, Government Accountability Office (GAO); exercises; and operational evaluations, including Director, OT&E IA, assessments.


    Provide guidance and tools for implementing and executing system RMF, and is the authoritative source for RMF guidance and policy.

    Implements a system decommissioning strategy, when needed, which executes required actions when an IS system is removed from service.


    Maintain open and effective communication with Air Force leadership and stakeholders within the 688th Cyberspace Wing, 16th Air Force, Air Combat Command, Headquarters Cyber Capabilities Center, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and Secretary of the Air Force A6.

    Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and compliance requirements.

    Validate capability meets mission requirements need.

    Develop security artifacts to support 688 CW IT systems' IA/cybersecurity program.

    Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change requests, and lessons learned.


    Develop security artifacts to support the IA/cybersecurity program to include System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Continuous (CM), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), System Design and Installation Procedures, System User Guides, Privileged User Guides, Security Test Procedures and other documents as needed.

    Build repository of meeting notes, reports, and project artifacts.

    Report project status to leadership and attend meetings as required.

    Create, manage, and maintain artifacts for 688 CW IT systems.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 7-10+ years equivalent job experience.

    Requires a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Security Assessment and Authorization Certification (CAP) certification

    Familiarity with military operations, policies, and procedures is highly desirable.

    Prefer 8-10 years experience in Cybersecurity.

    Possess technical knowledge relevant to the specific project domain (e.g., RMF, ATO procedures and processing, Continuous Monitoring etc.).


    Knowledge of compliance standards for the organization to include NIST controls, RMF, FEDRAMP and other agency specific requirements and emerging IC/DoD polices for Cyber Security to include knowledge on Cross Domain Solutions.

    Requires and active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
