Junior Financial Analyst
The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. This position provides financial analysis support to department managers, participates in special projects, and prepares financial data as necessary. Junior Financial Analyst reports to Controller.


Roles:


  • Lead preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Reports weekly metrics, monthly results, quarterly and annual projections
  • Design and maintain reports for realtime financial performance monitoring, using Jet Reports and Power BI

Responsibilities:


  • Manages financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in line with budgeting and reporting deadlines.
  • Upload approved budgets to accounting software.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of variance analysis reports, trend analysis, financial reports and models.
  • Implement realtime financial performance monitoring.
  • Identify and assist with researching variances to forecast, budget, and prioryear(s).
  • Escalates any financial issues to management and works with management on solutions and performance improvements.
  • Serve as quality control during the financial review, performing accounting research, validating costs, and providing feedback to the accounting team to make corrections if needed.
  • Create detailed financial models in support of projectbased initiatives
  • Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
  • Presents detailed monthly financial reports to managers, in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Assist in month close procedures and other general accounting duties (posting journal entries, project reporting etc.)
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Timely preparation of budgets, forecasts and other reports.
  • Implement process of realtime financial performance monitoring.
  • Prepare analysis and evaluation of cost/expense problems to identify profit improvement opportunities existing within current business activities.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to drive accurate forecasting and variance analysis and to assist in planning for and monitoring department costs.
  • Utilizes PowerPoint skills to communicate high level analysis in easytounderstand formatting.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in data analytics, finance, accounting, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Certified public accountants (CPA) or certified financial analysts (CFA) are preferred.
  • Prior financial planning and analysis experience is preferred.
  • Experience with designing reports using report writing or data visualization software; preference is Jet Reports and/or Power BI.
  • Must have Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC or NAV is preferred.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical, problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must pass all preemployment testing including a drug test, physical and background check.

Physical Demands:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
