STARK is seeking to hire an experienced Luxury Carpet Sales Professional with a proven track-record selling to the trades (Interior Designers, Architectural Firms) for our Costa Mesa, CA Showroom.


  • Base pay commensurate with experience. Eligible for additional sales commission and/or sales incentive bonus._
  • Must be available to work Saturdays_

Responsibilities:


  • Advise clients on product attributes and qualities as related to their needs, utilizing networking, market trend analysis, and personal judgment.
  • Identify potential clients and develop strategic clientcentric marketing plans, determining who to visit, when, and how frequently.
  • Cold call potential clients using customized scripts and create pre and postvisit reports, assessing their purchasing potential and delivering analysis to senior management.
  • Collaborate on the creation and development of the company's "core message" to clients.
  • Develop event strategies, lead, and organize events for specific clients with full discretion over budgets and invitees.
  • Prepare sales documents to initiate and close sales, as well as collaborate on layouts for installation from a design perspective.
  • Proactively reach out to build and manage client accounts.
  • Work closely with designers and retail partners to collaborate creatively.
  • Network through cold calls and proactive tasks to build client relations.
  • Multitask and see projects through from conception to installation.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


  • MUST be available to work on Saturdays, on a rotational basis.
  • Must have strong relationships with interior design clientele.
  • Must possess a strong interest in the interior design trade as well as interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of carpet qualities, attributes and manufacturing techniques preferred B.A. / B.S. Degree preferably in Interior Design or related field, and a minimum 2 years sales "to the trade" experience
- or a minimum of 5 years sales "to the trade" experience in lieu of the aforementioned educational preferences.

  • Acceptable score on Sales Assessment.
  • Have at least some peripheral experience in the design industry.
  • Be comfortable working with both designers and retail clients, both within the showroom and outside for presentations.
  • Be adept at building and maintaining client relationships while providing a fullservice client experience.
  • Be proficient in networking and cold calling to build a book of accounts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate creatively with designers.
  • Be capable of working effectively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Be willing to perform any other tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure success in the role.
