The Pharmacy Manager Specialty Pharmacy will lead a growing specialty pharmacy program within a large academic medical center environment.This role is responsible for both clinical and operational leadership, including staff management, daily operations, financial performance, quality and safety outcomes, patient experience, accreditation, analytics, and strategic growth initiatives.
This leader will serve as a member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction of pharmacy services and collaborating across clinical, operational, managed care, and executive teams to expand access to specialty medications and services.
The role includes leadership responsibility for 25+ pharmacy staff members and plays a key role in enterprise-wide specialty pharmacy growth and development.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead clinical and operational excellence across specialty pharmacy services
Manage daily operations, staffing, workflows, and performance management
Oversee financial management, budgeting, and revenue generation
Drive quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
Lead accreditation and compliance for specialty pharmacy services
Develop and execute strategic growth and business development plans
Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, managed care partners, and leadership
Support access to specialty medications for vulnerable patient populations
Contribute to organizational and departmental strategic initiatives
Qualifications
Education
PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy (required)
PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency OR Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership residency (preferred)
Licensure & Certification
Active California Pharmacist License (required)
Board certification in pharmacotherapy or specialty area (preferred)
Advanced Practice Pharmacist license (preferred)
Experience
Minimum 2+ years in outpatient pharmacy (specialty pharmacy experience preferred)
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred

Compensation
Annual Salary Range:
Approximately $152,000 - $273,000 per year
(Converted from hourly base rate; final compensation based on experience, credentials, and leadership scope)
