Job Summary/ Objective:


The Assistant Director of Latin 360 works closely with the Director of Latin 360 to develop, implement and oversee mission-based programming that occurs outside of the academic day and through the summer.

During the school year, the Assistant Director will primarily oversee the Lower School Extended Day and ASR programs.

Areas of focus include the hiring, training and supervision of staff, registration and communication with families, and facilitating internal and external communication within the Lower School.

Upon the summer planning season, the Assistant Director will support the development and refinement of summer programming with a focus on program development, staff hiring and development, oversight of camps and classes, and operational support of camp services including, but not limited to, registration, health and safety and foodservice.

This position must partner effectively with various departments and members of the school community.

Additionally, the Assistant Director will represent the Latin School of Chicago to outside constituents through visible and successful program offerings aligned with the overall strategic vision of the school.


EXTENDED DAY AND AFTER SCHOOL RESOURCES (ASR):

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and supervises Extended Day staff
  • Supports a team of 5 seasonal Team Leaders
  • Oversees daily operations within Extended Day, serving as afternoon onsite administrator in the lower school
  • Works in partnership with the Lower School Director/ Assistant Director in regular updates regarding overall facility and programmatic structure
  • Provides constructive and routine team leader meetings to both give and receive feedback
  • All payroll duties including scheduling, timesheet approval, etc.
  • Researches, vets and schedules ASR vendors & Faculty
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Essential Duties:

  • Creation, communication, and execution of program design including registration and billing processes
  • Develop, review and project program budgets. Collaborate with Director on new budget needs as necessary
  • Obtain student attendance and registration records daily for staff
  • Aid staff with parent communication as necessary
  • Collaborate with other appropriate departments on logistics including shared facility use, safety and health protocols, marketing and finances
  • Assign and organize team leader position(s)
  • Facilitate communication with student families, teachers and lower school leadership in the best service of the participants

SUMMER AT LATIN:


Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Director to recruit, interview and hire large day camp staff and leadership team members. Collaborate on development of appropriate staff team assignments with leadership team.
  • Collaborate with Director to develop and facilitate weeklong staff development and CDOS (continuous development of skills) throughout the summer season, culminating in end of season feedback
  • Supervise and support Leadership Team in structure and implementation of logistics within their assigned age group, including schedule, camper health, and timely communication

Essential Duties:

  • Work closely with the Director and appropriate departments to develop new and refine existing summer programs focused on recreation and socialemotional development, in alignment with the overall strategic vision of the school
  • In conjunction with the Director and other appropriate departments, develop and refine the marketing strategy for current programs as well as any new program launches.
  • Responsibilities will include all logistics associated with implementation of programs, such as scheduling, camper assignments. facilitating foodservice and healthcare needs, and provision of before/after camp care
  • Collaborate with Director to set up online registration and billing process utilizing Ultracamp
  • Ensure families receive high quality customer service and communication through timely communication, receipt and understanding of camp policies and procedures, and feedback/ information on their camper(s)
  • Assist with other logistics as needed
