    Description

    Job Title: Med/Surg Intermediate Care Unit Team Member at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank Campus

    Our collaboration with the University of Minnesota Medical School and University of Minnesota Physicians allows us to focus on pioneering treatments and surgical procedures, as well as training future medical professionals.

    Clinical trials play a significant role in advancing our healthcare services, ensuring the latest insights are integrated into patient care.


    • 24 Beds - Combination of Med/Surg and Intermediate Care
    • Sepsis, Overdoses/Withdrawals, Spine surgeries, Telemetry
    • Continuous IV infusions of anti-dysrhythmic and vasoactive drugs, Pneumonia, Altered mental status (AMS)

    This role involves working 40 hours over a 2-week pay period during the evening shift, consisting of 8-hour shifts every other weekend. It also includes eligibility for benefits.

    Responsibilities:

    In this position, you will collaborate with a professional nurse to provide exceptional customer service, teamwork, and communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.


    Other job responsibilities include:
    • Assisting with patient care activities such as personal hygiene, vital signs, daily tasks, positioning, transportation, and feeding
    • Preparing and organizing patient rooms
    • Managing supplies inventory
    • Handling incoming phone calls when possible

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities:

    Required


    • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification mandatory. Participants in the OnTrack program must obtain this certification upon program completion

    AND ONE of the following:


    • Completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program
    • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting
    • Enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completed clinical rotation semester
    • Certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
