Description

Industriemechaniker/innen in Port Colden sind responsible for manufacturing components and assemblies for machines and systems used in the energy and environmental technology sector.

They also set up and modify these components and assemblies. They monitor and optimize production processes and perform repair and maintenance tasks. The scope of work for an Industriemechaniker ranges from welding and metalworking to operating CNC machines. This includes tasks such as welding, sawing, drilling, and screwing the necessary components together. For large quantities, modern CNC-controlled machines are used.

Training Content

During the three and a half year apprenticeship, aspiring Industriemechaniker/innen in the field of mechanical and plant engineering will learn the following:

  • Creating sketches and drawings
  • Manufacturing, maintenance, and monitoring of technical systems
  • Setting up, converting, and commissioning production facilities
  • Techniques for separating, forming, and joining materials
  • Programming of numerically controlled machines (CNC)
  • Assembly of components and assemblies

  • Technical and physical understanding

  • High school or secondary school diploma
