We are recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join a dynamic accounting team located in Rocklin. Our client offers a great work environment, flexible work schedule, competitive compensation, and ample growth opportunities. (These positions are newly created due to company growth). The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the accounting department with journal entries, reconciliations, and recording transactions. Salary range: $70,000-$80,000/year DOE

The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliations experience including cash, balance sheet and bank accounts. Candidates must at minimum be able to create pivot tables and v-lookups within MS Excel.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reconciles accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Performs journal entries for recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Investigates variances or other unusual activity.
Tracks and reconciles cash and credit deposits. Analyzes data to alert store leaders of potential lost deposits.
Maintains accurate and updated documentation of work performed.
Assists in the month end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
Records Bank transactions and performs bank reconciliations.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts receivable and ensures
payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Applies knowledge to propose process improvements to the financial reporting cycle.
Research accounting treatment for transactions as needed.
Other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
At least three years of related experience required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of general financial accounting.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to work on multiple projects.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Excel.
