Description
Excellent opportunity exists for an experienced physician leader as Medical Director of our primary care initiatives.The ideal candidate is a skilled clinical practitioner with strong interpersonal skills and experience in an administration role. The successful applicant will work closely with our leadership team to implement strategies that enhance patient care.
Responsible for providing leadership, developing and coordinating long-range planning for our primary care service line. The Medical Director is responsible for motivating staff to be a highly-functioning, financially-sound team while maintaining the highest standards of medical care. He/She is expected to maintain a clinical identity while devoting his/her abilities to proper management, function and efficiency of our primary care program. Hiring and recruiting physicians is an important function of the Medical Director, as is retaining high-level physicians and other staff. He/She will act as a liaison to other physicians by maintaining relationships that are helpful and collaborative, while focusing all physicians on the important of community outreach and exemplary communication with specialty physicians.
The ideal candidate will be a clinical physician leader who has demonstrated, by earlier accomplishments, an ability to define a vision for primary care services appropriate for the Medical Group, establish ambitious goals for the program and lead all involved in a comprehensive program to achieve those goals.
The successful candidate is expected to have a medical degree (MD/DO) with board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Medicine. He/She must be qualified to be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Michigan.
HealthCare System
System is one of the largest, most comprehensive health care providers north of metro Detroit. Located in the heart of the Great Lakes Bay Region, it is the sixth largest hospital in Michigan with 643-beds and the regions only Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center including air medical transport service. We have more than 20 inpatient and outpatient facilities, including two major acute care medical centers and servicing people from more than 20 counties across central and northeast Michigan. In addition, it also has the only regional neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
As the region's preferred hospital and leader in electronic medical records (utilizing EPIC), we support research, education and technology serving as a major teaching hospital in addition to providing training facilities for Central Michigan Universities brand new medical education program in 2013.
