Position Overview:

This is an exciting full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our operations across both our Disaster Services and Construction Services.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with our Business Analytics Team and various departments to provide GIS support, facilitating informed decision-making and efficient project management.

Additionally, this position will be instrumental in helping the organization stand up its initial GIS capabilities, laying the foundation for future growth and success in leveraging geospatial technology across all business sectors.

Location :
Preferably located in our Baton Rouge, LA office. A hybrid remote work option is available after a specified tenure with the company.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiles, manipulates, and analyzes geospatial data. Designs, develops, and maintains databases and systems of GIS data. Creates reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses. Utilizes scripting languages to refine GIS data pipelines and processes. Development of GIS protocols and training for multiple service lines.

Tasks will vary depending on current projects, but will most likely include:

Geospatial data analysis

Working with geodatabases and data management

Data entry

Managing GIS workflows and equipment

Will perform geospatial overlays to create data sets for ad-hoc data requests.

Utilizes ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS to create web maps and geo apps

Problem solves technical issues within the Esri ecosystem

Finds, obtains, downloads, and organizes data. Performs quality control operations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS,

or related field

with an emphasis in GIS ( or a GIS certificate from an accredited school)

2 to 4 years of demonstrated professional work experience performing GIS tasks. An equivalent combination of recent education and job experience may be sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties.

Experience with the Esri ArcGIS Platform (i.e., Arcmap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, etc) and mobile data collection applications.

Not Required, but Preference Given For :

IT/Networking/Hardware/General Desktop Support and Troubleshooting experience

Drafting using AutoCAD or other drafting software

Experience with Adobe products (Illustrator, Photoshop)

3D mapping and modeling

FAA UAS Part 107 Certification

Previous experience with relational database development

R, Python, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Visual Basic, C#, GoLang or other programming experience
