Middle School French Teacher
RISE Education provides World Language, Music, Art, Technology, and Physical Education learning through cultural immersion for toddlers to teens.

We approach learning in an enjoyable and accessible way that broadens a child's understanding of art, culture, and all that they can achieve.

This position is located in Chicago, IL

August 26, 2024 to June 6, :30am to 3:30pm)

Qualifications:

Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Fluent in both French and English.
Must love working with children.
Training and basic curriculum will be provided.
Ability to communicate effectively and often with parents and families.
Strong instructional skills and classroom management.
Unrelenting commitment to students, self, and school's constant learning and development.
Ability to selfreflect on teaching practices and be responsive to feedback.

Responsibilities and Duties

Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
Teaching writing and Spanish/French/Mandarin composition classes.
Teaching students about Spanish/French/Mandarin culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that are aligned with the school's overall vision.
Develop and implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
Thoughtfully plan daily lessons and implement specific strategies to meet the needs of all students, providing extra support, enrichment, or variation of work when necessary.
Demonstrate strong content knowledge.
Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and diagnose areas of student misunderstanding.
Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
Be accountable for students' academic growth and increase each individual student's achievement.
Create a positive, achievementoriented learning environment.
Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback.
Participate in collaborative curriculum development, gradelevel activities, and schoolwide functions.
Invest parents and families in their children's academic success through regular communication.
