The primary emphasis of the position is to promote NBS through project solutions that are inspired and supported by nature and that offer environmental, economic, and social benefits, while increasing resilience.

NBS projects may address both green and natural infrastructure and include sustainable planning, design, environmental management, and engineering practices that weave natural features or processes into the built environment.

This includes the intentional alignment of natural and engineering processes to efficiently and sustainably deliver benefits through collaboration.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead technical planning, analysis, and design work focused on NBS solutions for climate adaptation and resilience, including integrated solutions that consider both natural features and engineered components
  • Support business development opportunities and general growth of AECOM's climate adaptation and resilience services with clients from local, state, and federal government and the private sector
  • Manage small to mediumsized projects and technical teams within larger projects, coordinating with our multidiscipline teams consisting of planners, scientists, and engineers
  • Contribute to critical enterprise pursuits with major AECOM clients
  • Represent AECOM with potential clients, government agencies, potential and current partners, and competitors
  • Leading resilience strategy development and concept, preliminary, and final design of naturebased solutions for a range of natural hazards
  • Mentor and train juniorlevel staff on technical and business development areas
  • Prepare and deliver technical and business development presentations

Qualifications Minimum Requirements**:


  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental, Civil, Coastal Engineering) from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, conducting and/or overseeing analysis, proposal writing, client management, along with experience in managing a team
  • Experience on NBS and climate adaptation and resilience planning, particularly policy and program design
  • Experience on addressing a wide array of climate impacts, including sea level rise, precipitation, and temperature and development of adaptation strategies to reduce impact

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental, Civil, Coastal Engineering) is highly preferred
  • Previous experience in client account management, customer development or marketing
  • Expertise in relationship building that increases account expansion and leads to increased opportunities with existing clients
  • Experience navigating a complex ecosystem of stakeholders with demonstration of creating and maintaining relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent project management and communication and writing skills
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Detailoriented: Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment
