Position Overview:
Responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and documenting educational and staff development activities for physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiology/speech-language pathology service.
This includes department orientation, training, competency programs, and developing, organizing, and conducting in-services or continuing education events as needed to ensure staff competencies.
Develops workflows collaboratively with affiliates necessary to establish effective processes to meet regulatory requirements and standards. Establish and maintain affiliations with schools of their respective rehabilitation service discipline.The incumbent will also coordinate, schedule, and oversee school clinical affiliation student rotations in addition to training facility preceptors or instructors.
EDUCATION:
- Other: Completion of an accredited physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech/language pathologist program
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years recent relevant experience.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES:
- PT
- Physical Therapy
- OR OT
- Occupational Therapy
- OR SP
- Speech Pathology
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of educational needs assessment, planning, curriculum development, competency assessment, training implementation and training evaluation.
- Demonstrated coaching ability to improve individual or group performance.
- Comparative analysis (best practice, gap analysis, benchmarking)
- Basic information technology/computer literacy is required in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and group communication skills, both verbal and written required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills required. Must be able to work independently and as a team member with variety of stakeholders
- Advanced general professional and practice knowledge of their specific therapy discipline clinical processes within acute and outpatient clinical settings
- Knowledge of professional clinical standards and regulatory requirements required
- Thorough knowledge of professional clinical standards
