    Position Summary

    The Manager of the Miriam's House Permanent Supportive Housing Program provides comprehensive program management under the direction of the Director of Permanent Housing Programs. The Miriam's House provides affordable housing and supportive services for 25 women living with HIV/AIDS. The Manager will supervise a team of full-time and part-time staff members, including Case Management staff and Program Associates.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to

    • Oversee all elements of daily operations in the supportive housing program.
    • Supervise a team of staff who provide case management and other client services on-site; collaborate on the development of professional development goals and monitor staff progress towards goals.
    • Facilitate regular team meetings and individual supervisions wit staff to review client cases and program operations.
    • Manage and maintain the staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage for the program during its operating hours.
    • Coordinate with Property Management to ensure efficient unit turnover, timely resolution of maintenance issues, and assist in preparing for routine facility inspections.
    • Coordinate with the agency's Volunteer and In-Kind (VIK) office to bring appropriate volunteer services and donations on-site to support programming and client needs.
    • Oversee the planning and implementation of programming and community activities for the residents.
    • Ensure contract compliance by conducting internal audits and coordinating with the appropriate officials in the completion of program funder's routine audits.
    • Ensure complete, timely, and accurate data and documentation submission into database in accordance with program contract.
    • Coordinate with the Districts Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP) system to obtain referrals to the program when vacancies exist.
    • Receive, manage, and work to resolve resident complaints and grievances.
    • Participate in the program managers' on-call rotation schedule.
    • Participate in organization-wide meetings and committees, departmental meetings and trainings as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements:

    Education and Experience Qualifications

    • Master's Degree preferred in a human services discipline to include psychology, social work, criminal justice, mental health, or public health, with at least three (3) years of management/supervisory experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree in a human services discipline with at least five (5) years of management/supervisory experience.
    • If holding a master's degree, licensure at the LGSW, LICSW, LGPC, or LPC is preferred.
    • Experiencing working with individuals living with HIV/AIDS is strongly preferred.
    • Experience and ability with outcome-based program management and evaluation.

    Skills and Competencies Required

    • Strong cultural competence, including excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse population.
    • Mature abilities in working independently, developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution.
    • Ability to multi-task and be adaptable in an ever-changing environment.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn database systems.
    • Knowledge of DC social services resources and compliance requirements.
    • Knowledge of the Housing First program model and experience providing services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
    • Understanding and experience working with vulnerable populations and the related issues of addiction and mental illness.

    Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9:00a-5:00pm (with flexibility based on program's need)
