    Pastry Cook - Dallas, United States - Dallas Country Club

    Description

    Dallas Country Club is currently seeking qualified individuals for Pastry Cooks. DCC, founded in 1896, is the most exclusive and prestigious private club in the area and we pride ourselves on hiring the best of the best. Our Clubhouse, featuring 3 full-service restaurants, a large ballroom, and several banquet facilities, recently opened complementing our existing food and beverage outlets. DCC has several full-service kitchens, a pastry shop, and a butcher shop. If you consider yourself the best of the best, please apply.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and serve desserts and baked goods.
    • Ensure that appropriate sanitation and safety standards are implemented.
    • Ensure that product is stored, prepared, and served according to specifications and standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Follow and prepare recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients, portion and production levels.
    • Maintain work areas and kitchen equipment.
    • Follow all sanitation, health, and safety policies and procedures.
    • Prepare and maintain ingredients, tools, supplies, and equipment.
    • Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and product.
    • Stock and restock daily: pastries, cakes, pies, and other baked goods.
    • Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
    • Report to work complying with all appearance standards.
    • Be aware of the work schedule.
    • Follow safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Honor all work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor, which may or may not be outside normal duties, to ensure member satisfaction.
    • Ability to inspect and maintain all areas for which you are responsible.
    The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
    • High school diploma or GED; 2 or more years' experience in the pastry related professional area.
    • Or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
    The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities:
    • Baking - Ability to prepare and present dessert offerings utilizing culinary principles, standards, techniques, and equipment.
    • Food Production and Presentation - Knowledge of techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting pastry food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques and sanitation standards.
    • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.
    • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
    • Self-Motivated.
    • Good communicator.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
    • High volume experience recommended.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Current food handler's certifications as required by federal/state/local law.
