Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

SUMMARY


The Employee Engagement Department is responsible for the execution of agency-wide efforts, designed to connect all staff to opportunities that are crucial to shaping the most engaging employee experience possible.

These efforts include overseeing a robust calendar of communications and activities, creating greater accessibility and equity within our staff, supporting and consulting with other teams and leaders to maximize engagement, and coordinating events for employees to connect with each other.


Under the supervision of the Director of Learning and Engagement, the Manager, Employee Engagement will lead the execution of all activities of the Employee Engagement Department including ongoing and new agency-wide engagement opportunities.

The Manager, Employee Engagement will have the opportunity to give strategic input into the future direction of the department, both initially and on an ongoing basis.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Agency-Wide Staff Engagement Initiatives_
  • Be responsible for the annual calendar of agency engagement initiatives and timelines for execution
  • Lead annual engagement surveying, analysis, and reporting process
  • Lead initiatives to increase understanding and commitment to the Expected Behaviors of all staff and People Leaders
  • Oversee execution of allstaff engagement and integration events, supporting personally as needed, including but are not limited to: monthly Town Hall by Call and Lean On Me, biannual People Co Con, annual Day in the Park, Mentoring for Success, Social Justice Jams, Holiday Decorating Contest and Party
  • Other duties as assigned and as needed

Equity and Access_

  • Strategize and implement strategies to increase internal collaboration on agencywide initiatives among staff
  • Provide consult and support to specific departments with lower levels of engagement
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and access
  • Other duties as assigned and as needed

Internal Corporate Communications_

  • Oversee internal communications calendar through Employee Engagement Specialist
  • Write and edit corporate communications under the purview of the Employee Engagement Department
  • Other duties as assigned and as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to identify ways to incorporate a DEI lens to employee engagement activities
  • Selfmotivated and able to successfully work independently and in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams and vendors
  • Ability to think critically about problems and be creative in finding solutions
  • Strong communication skills, including written and oral
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Demonstrates an ability to use new technology to enhance the employee learning experience
  • Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers
  • Valid CA Driver's license, reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clientserving experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily indoor office environment
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 15 pounds
  • May necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
