Job Description

The research area of electromechanical engineering at the Chair of Production Automation and Production Systematics (FAPS) focuses on innovative production technologies for the mobility of the future. The main focus is on the design and automation of production processes for components of electric drive technology, especially for electric vehicles, industrial applications, and hybrid electric flying. In addition to electric drive technology, the production of contactless energy transfer technology for the power supply of electric vehicles has become a major focus in recent years. The goal is to develop the entire value chain for the construction of electrified roads for dynamic energy transfer in electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and review of current state-of-the-art and research in the field of electrified roads using inductive energy transfer
• Conceptualization, iterative development, and optimization of core processes for the construction of electrified roads (laying procedures for RF wires, contact methods, insulation methods, integration into road structures such as concrete and asphalt)
• Possibility to implement Industry 4.0 techniques (e.g. sensor integration, big data, machine learning, digital twin/shadow, simulation and optimization)
