Edgebrook is a family owned full-service bike shop on Chicago's Northwest Side, providing gear and guidance for over 35 years. We cater to families and weekend warriors alike and aim to take customer service to the next level.

Your job.
Our Service Technicians are the center of Edgebrook Cycle's repair team.

The Shop Mechanic has the ability to focus on bike builds and repairs while maintaining an acute attention to detail, making sure every bike that leaves their work stand is operating at its peak level.

The Shop Mechanic has the ability to uncover problems, communicate and follow up effectively, and use their technical knowledge and experience to find the perfect solution to get any bike ready to ride.

What you will do:
Assemble and tune bikes using the proper tools while following all safety procedures

Provide customers with the highest level of service

Gather and respond to service requests and ensure they are properly and safely completed

Ensure service paperwork is completed legibly, accurately, and filed accordingly

Ensure all proper housekeeping methods and overall cleanliness of the shop is adhered to

May include other duties (but not limited to) cashiering, writing service tickets, and retail sales

Care and maintenance of bike shop & tools

Maintain high house-keeping standards.


About you:
Requirements
Display mechanical aptitude to be able to perform bike builds, bike safety inspection, maintenance and repairs

Can demonstrate ability to properly build bikes, safety check and perform Basic tune to shop standards

Has bike shop experience (ideally working as a mechanic)

Familiarity with hydraulic braking systems

A passion for cycling or a strong affinity with active sports is desirable.

Perform store operating duties outside of normal duties as requested

Proficiency with computers and point of sale (Litespeed Plus) a plus but not required


Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour

• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (preferred)
• Bicycle servicing: 1 year (preferred)
