This job will mostly consist of writing up service orders for customers, informing customers on services we provide, and checking customers out after their services are complete.

Service Writer
  • I review service writer app for appointments throughout the day.
  • Set up the service writer station at the apron of the ACC.
  • Service writer tablet is charged and updated with new software.
  • I stock needed supplies for the day passports, add on sales promotions, etc.
  • I greet customers and provide customer service and recommendations.
  • I scan each vehicle VIN (vehicle identification number) and complete a vehicle inspection prior to service to reduce customer claims.
  • I create service orders and advise customers on needed or required services.
  • I provide recommendations on additional services to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
  • I provide customers with the expected wait time for a vehicle service to be completed.
  • I explain manufacturer service/product requirements to customers.
  • I test every vehicle battery when creating a service order and provide test results to customers as well as recommend replacement, if needed.
  • I pull the customers' vehicles into and out of the bays with the assistance of a spotter.
  • I provide completed service orders to the ACC sales associate.
  • I follow all safety and compliance guidelines.
  • I am trained on Next Gen Bay Support System.
  • I have a valid driver's license.
  • I have TPMS knowledge.
  • I can use diagnostic equipment.
  • I understand all industries guides for vehicle services.
  • I move and stage customers vehicles in anticipation of customers services.
  • I stage needed product (wipers, tires, batteries, etc. for needed services).
  • I ensure top treat bottle is stocked in the modular and the service writer podium.
  • I ensure fuel injection cleaner is stocked in the modular and the service writer podium.
  • I prepare and prep the service writer podium on a daily basis (stocking, staging the lube lanes, pulling in tires at closing, etc.).
  • I provide customer service product knowledge for needed services such as tires, oil, batteries, wipers, etc.
  • I review CAF (customer acknowledgment form) with the customer pertaining to low oil level, proper tire installation location, TPMS, tire service life, and other factors related to the vehicle and service.
  • I perform customer training aspects such as showing the customer there is no oil on the oil dipstick, wiper blades need replaced, tires need replaced, existing damage to the customers vehicle, and recommended services.
  • I perform the full and final service order disclosure during the checkout process with the customer.
  • I perform a vehicle safety walk to inspect for prior damage, record damages and present to the customer.
  • I gather customers signature to authorize services performed.
  • I install the ACC passport on the customer's keys and review with the customer their portion of the passport (example: scan, track services, and retrieve keys after payment).
  • I explain to the customers the SMS ability to see when their services have started and notification when the services are completed.
  • I have been trained on the Five Steps to a Tire sell, utilizing the service writer app for tire selling recommendations and generating service orders.
  • I am certified in all training which includes:
  • This would include hands on training.
  • Electronic training (ulearn)
  • Digital media training
  • Add on sales training
  • Next Gen equipment
  • Knowledge of the following Diagnostic tools
  • Battery testing equipment
  • TPMS
  • Code Reader (where applicable)
  • I perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Opening procedures
  • Turn on air compressor
  • Open bay doors
  • Build outside tire display feature
  • Disposing of used tires
  • Disposing of used batteries
  • Take out trash
  • Gathering shopping carts
  • Sweeping, Cleaning, Picking up trash around the ACC apron
  • Accept & Process customer waste oil (customer signs the DIY manifest)
  • Closing procedures
  • Turn off air compressor
  • Removal of outside tire features
  • Close bay doors
  • Dispose of used batteries

  • Utilizing PPE
  • Place leaking battery in bag with baking soda
  • Place on a spill containment pallet
  • Dispose of used tires
  • Take out trash
  • Sweeping of the bay
  • Scrubbing with water the lower bay
  • Cleaning the ACC restroom
  • Wipe down the service iPad
  • Ensure all iPads are plugged into a charging cable
  • Ensure proper placement of all tools
  • Disposing of customer waste oil (DIY)
  • I process battery returns.
  • I stock batteries.
  • I pull batteries.
  • I am a cashier when needed.
  • I stock tires.
  • I pull tires.
  • I perform RFID scanning when needed.
  • I work in D10 when needed.
  • I perform Vizpick of the backroom when needed.
  • I take care of wheel weights.
  • I take crushed oil filters to the used oil filter bin for disposal.
  • I stock the service modular.
  • I stock oil filters in the service area.
