    Description:

    Position Summary
    Department is searching for a MD and/or PhD to establish a PI-driven research program, adding to current research in our Department. Current NIH or equivalent funding is required. The successful candidate will be provided with a competitive startup package. We prefer research that integrates with research interests in our department and/or with other areas with the College of Medicine or University

    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform cutting-edge research.
  • Apply for extramural grant funding.
  • Publish manuscripts in high-impact journals.
  • Collaborate on research with colleagues in Department of Anesthesiology and other departments at UIC.
  • Teach graduate students, undergraduates, and postdocs in the lab.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Clinical anesthesia care may also be part of duties (if appropriate)
    • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications
    Qualified applicants will have a PhD, MD, or equivalent. The successful candidate must have current NIH funding and a history of extramural funding for their research program. Candidates whose research involves neuroscience, bioengineering, cardiac or pulmonary physiology, pain, drug addiction, local anesthetics, or mechanisms of anesthesia are especially sought. All candidates must have an outstanding publication record. A highly competitive startup package and lab space will be offered.
