This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location in the Hillsboro, OR Metropolitan area.
This role also includes the potential for travel up to 60% of the time to various US, Canada, and Latin America based locations.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers.The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations.
This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and may include participation in an on-call rotation. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the Data Center Space.
This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:
Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Key job responsibilities
Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
Network, device and link troubleshooting
Resolving trouble tickets in a timely manner
RMA processing
Working with cross-functional teams (both internal and external)
Coordinating remote hands support with colocation providers
Completing cross connect requests
Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets standards
Driving the team to improve operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives
A day in the life
Resolving breakfix tickets at our Edge sites, managing migrations and cross connects, RMA removals, and other projects for the larger DCO team.

Basic Qualifications
1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
1+ years of computer networking experience
1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
High school or equivalent diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Data Center environment
Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
Understanding of storage devices
Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
An Associates degree or 2+ years of professional or military experience in an IT related field
