    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years nursing experience required.

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a 1:1 position with a high school student in Berkeley, CA. This part-time role involves providing specialized care to a student with complex medical needs, including severe osteoporosis, seizure disorder, an oxygen tank, and a g-tube. The position runs from mid-June through mid-September, with 30 hours per week, 6 hours per day.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide 1:1 care for a high school student with severe osteoporosis, seizure disorder, oxygen tank, and g-tube.
    • Assist with toileting and other personal care needs.
    • Manage and operate a Hoyer lift for mobility assistance.
    • Support the student with academic activities and classroom integration.
    • Ride the van with the student to and from school.
    • Monitor and manage any medical emergencies or health-related concerns.

    Requirements

    • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a valid California license.
    • Experience with Hoyer lifts and patient transfer techniques.
    • Comfort and experience with toileting assistance and other personal care tasks.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
    • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
    • Experience working with students or individuals with special needs is a plus.

    Compensation

    • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $35 to $40+ per hour, depending on experience.
