    SUMMARY

    The Program Manager, Hospital and Facility Network advances the practice's growth, quality, and affordability goals by managing relationships with and cultivating collaborative means to drive improvement in the performance of the practice's external partnerships with select hospitals, health systems, specialty practices, and other care delivery organizations.

    Provides key staff level leadership to ensure that the practice has established preferred external network that allows patients to receive care that is safe, high quality, patient-centered, and cost efficient.

    Cultivates internal and external relationships and creates accountability structures to ensure that hospital and specialty care delivered to Optum Massachusetts patients meets the highest standards for quality and effectiveness while delivering market-leading cost efficiency.

    Represents the practice with external provider partners and acts with tact and discretion in representing the position of the practice and finding opportunities for collaboration and performance improvement.

    Ensures alignment with Optum MA's strategic and operational plans as well as mission, vision, and values.
    EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree (or equivalent) in business or health administration strongly preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in health care management, with strong experience in project management, health care administration, managed care, business development, business relations, large system customer relations, financial analysis, or related fields.


    SKILLS

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a large and diverse constituency, including executive leaders, clinical leaders, and network partners.

    Ability to disseminate information accurately and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
    Strong analytical skills and acumen working with data and financial information.
    Ability to work independently and to accept responsibility for complex relationships and initiatives. Experience managing complex initiatives and projects through influence and collaboration.
    Outstanding organizational skills necessary to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities.

    Interpersonal relationship skills needed to motivate others and work with providers, managers, and staff in a positive and collegial fashion.

    Experience with acute and primary payment models
    Demonstrates managerial courage as well as an ability to maneuver effectively in a changing, fast paced environment.
