Position Overview:
Weekends Required

Verifies transport information from escort dispatcher to plan routes effectively and maintains a log of travel activities.
Transports patients promptly as requested.
Confirms patient identity by cross-checking identity information and medical charts to ensure accurate location in the hospital.
Clearly explains to the patient the purpose and method of transfer using appropriate transfer equipment.
Follows proper transfer techniques to guarantee patient safety in accordance with CH guidelines and procedures.
Handles medication transfers in tamper-proof bags when necessary.
Inspects transport equipment to ensure safe handling and correct functioning. Removes faulty or defective equipment from service.
Communicates promptly with the dispatching unit in case of transport delays, damaged equipment, or patient issues and concerns.
Identifies areas for improvement in the escort function and suggests recommendations for enhancement.
Completes any additional assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: None required.
Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED
Special Training: No prior training necessary.
