- Teach classes in ABE, GED, HS+, and/or ELA (English Language Acquisition). Successful candidates are skilled at utilizing both lecture and laboratory modes of instruction.
- Participate with department faculty in curriculum revision, program management, and research-related activities.
- Interview and screen prospective students for the program.
- Maintain competency assessment records and student progress accountability measures on all students enrolled in the assigned course sections.

Olympic College is accepting applications for a Transitional Studies faculty position in the Corrections Education program at the Washington Correctional Center for Women (WCCW) and Mission Creek Correctional Center for Women (MCCCW). OC is hiring both full- and part-time positions.
Corrections Faculty members are professional educators primarily responsible for providing a quality education for all Olympic College students. The faculty member's relationship with the student is that of teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Corrections Education at WCCW and MCCCW and will teach classes to incarcerated individuals housed at WCCW or MCCCW. Successful candidates will teach assigned classes, prepare teaching materials, assign grades, maintain records, and consult with students as required by the instructional division.
This posting is being advertised to fulfill a contract awarded to Olympic College (OC) by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) to operate a correctional education program at Washington Correctional Center for Women and Mission Creek Correctional Center for Women following an interagency agreement with the Department of Corrections. Olympic College and its employees working in a correctional education program are expected to follow all Department of Corrections (DOC) Policies, IT, and other Security requirements, follow DOC Operational Memorandums, and comply with the Superintendent's directions. Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment.This is a temporary full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual contract days remaining in the academic year. The salary listed is a range based on per month for the quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load.Full-time faculty qualify for the following benefits.
