Position Summary The Laboratory Technician carries out complex and specialized tests and support functions as well as identifies opportunities to improve those processes with which they work.

This role offers the career potential to a Scientist / Researcher role.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks Uses a full range of methods that have been developed and specified. Routinely includes multiple steps that require judgement to distinguish specific routes.

Plans own work and may direct day-to-day efforts of others under the constraints of a research program or test schedule.

Performs routine maintenance on a wide range of instruments.

May perform light repair work by following documented procedures Works on specific projects under guidance of a technical specialist (i.e., Chemist/ Engineer) Records data, observations, and conclusions Checks for data integrity and performs detailed calculations and statistical analysis.

Communicates with lab customers on routine issues.

Position Requirements FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:
Associates degree in general science, chemistry, biology, or similar with 4+ years of experience HS degree with 6-10 years of lab experienceKNOWLEDGE &


EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Basic level of expertise required Advanced measurement techniques and excellent lab practices Ability to follow well documented directions Ability to learn complex instrumental methods.

Salary range:
$52, $83,000.00
