Summary of Responsibilities_**Oversee the accounts payable process and merchandise inventory processes ensuring procedures are documented and followed and implementing improvement initiatives where identified.

The Accounts Payable manager is responsible for accurate financial records, preparing reports and reconciling accounts.


Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver on time and first-time right month-end close processes for AP module close out and merchandise inventory
  • Ensure all invoices are approved, coded and paid on time
  • Perform analysis and explain monthly fluctuations in AP balances to leadership
  • Prepare and perform analysis on vendor spend and payables performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with company policies as well as local, state and federal regulations
  • Develop and maintain accounts payables policies and procedures
  • Owner of assigned financial controls, responsible for execution, accuracy, and document retention to support audits
  • Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
  • Reconcile the store transactions between what vendors provide vs what the stores enter and make sure transactions have proper supports.
  • Reconcile historical account payable transactions and make corrections.
  • Subject matter expert for Backoffice system and ERP (PDI Enterprise) focused on retail store close, merchandise inventory and payables
  • Collaborate with other departments to take ownership and ensure timely invoice processing. This includes business teams as well as contracts & procurement

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in high pressure environment
  • Attention to detail, great organization skill and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
  • Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Great analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Accounting Knowledge (IFRS preferred) and proven ability to learn and upskill in specific areas as needed.
  • Proven ability to learn and leverage ERP and accounting software Strong MS Suite skills

Experience/Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable or related field
  • Experience in managing a team of accounts payable professionals
  • Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) or Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus
