New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award-winning not-for-profit agency in Midtown Manhattan, with a satellite Bronx office, dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexity, chronic health conditions, significant disabilities and behavioral challenges. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Database & Donor Relations Manager to join its development team. The development team raises approximately $10 million annually through a combination of private and government grants, individual giving, and a NYC-based gala. The team prides itself on having a deep understanding of and passion for NAC's mission and is excited to welcome the right person into this position.


Description:
The Database and Donor Relations Manager will work collaboratively with all members of the Development team.

They will manage the donor database (Raiger's Edge NXT) and ensure excellent data integrity while supporting the agency's overall fundraising, gift processing, communications, and events management efforts.

They will also work closely with the Director of Development on donor analysis, donor communications, and establishing a coherent moves management approach to individual gift cultivation and stewardship.

Position Type:
Full-time, Monday through Friday evening, with occasional weekend hours. NAC operates on a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week on-site. Additional time on-site may be required.


Pay Range:
$65,000 - $70,000

Description of Responsibilities:


  • Manage Raiser's Edge NXT database and oversee database integrity and accuracy by establishing regular system checks of donor information review and clean up;
  • Oversee all gift processing, including gift/donor data entry; write and merge timely acknowledgments to all donors;
  • Develop, create, and maintain policies and procedures for data entry, audit, and analysis to ensure optimal database organization and data hygiene;
  • Liaise with the finance/ accounting team on gift and revenue reconciliation (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Ensure accurate financial and donor data reports, including restricted and general operating support gifts, gifts raised through events and appeals, pledge payments, planned gifts, and differentiating hard and soft credit;
  • Provide the Development Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors with donor giving histories, donation analytics, and financial reporting as needed;
  • Manage mailings and donor segmentation for fundraising campaigns and events;
  • Collaborate with other members of the Development team in the execution of special events (NAC's Annual Gala, Women's Luncheon, and other smaller cultivation events), including registration, guest list segmentation for strategic outreach, event registration, and dayof event execution;
  • In conjunction with the Development Director, increase departmental focus on individual donor cultivation and programming, including individual giving analysis and strategy, communications, prospect research, and development of a robust major gifts pipeline and moves management;
  • Assist Development team members with new and ongoing projects and initiatives as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in data entry, data analysis, and database management
  • Experience working in the notforprofit field preferred

Required Skills:


  • Knowledge of and experience working with Raiser's Edge NXT required;
  • Excellent project management, administrative and computer skills;
  • Above average competency in Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills, along with an aptitude for data analysis;
  • Must possess a comfort level with multitasking and enjoy collaborating with others
