At Lake City, our study program based on the Ulm model combines vocational training as an industrial mechanic with a university degree in mechatronics.

This allows you to obtain two qualifying degrees simultaneously and prepares you for your future professional career.

You will gain in-depth knowledge in the field of robotics and control technology, and learn how to plan and implement automation concepts for manufacturing plants in the automotive industry.

Combined with the manufacturing fundamentals from your vocational training, this provides a strong foundation for a successful career in project management.

At EBZ, you will learn the following as part of your training:

  • Basics of mechanical and manual metal processing: turning, milling, grinding, sawing, drilling, reaming, filing, threading, as well as cutting and forming
  • Fundamentals of pneumatics, PLC technology, and robot programming
  • Planning of production plants from an automation technology perspective
  • Simulation of production processes as part of virtual commissioning
  • Assembly and commissioning of production plants in the factory and at the customer's site
  • Support for our project teams, taking into account deadlines, costs, and quality
  • Completion of practical assignments and the bachelor's thesis in the product area
At the DHBW, you will study the following subjects:

  • Mathematics and physics
  • Materials science and manufacturing technology
  • Design theory
  • Fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics
  • Sensors and measurement technology
  • Control engineering
