The Entomology Technician will be responsible for performing various extractions and examinations of samples within the Entomology Department. The position conducts filth/decomposition/sensory analyses on various commodities assuring adherence to regulatory methods and record upkeep. This position works closely with the Chemistry and Microbiology Operations Managers to meet critical customer deadlines.

Responsibilities for Entomology Technician:

Perform Sample Extractions
Examination of filth plates under microscope
Perform counting, identification, and measuring of various filth elements such as insects, hairs, etc.
Decomposition/Sensory Analysis of various food products
Preparation of FDA reports
Data entry/review
Preparation of sensory reports for nonregulatory customer samples
Review and approval of laboratory certificates
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Entomology Technician:

2 years of Entomology/Sensory experienced
preferred but not required.
BS or coursework in Entomology is
highly desirable, other closely related fields may apply
Positive team player and punctual
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable in a fastpaced environment with mínimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime when needed
Frequent walking, standing, pushing and bending is required

Pay:
Starting at $20/hr, based on experience.
