Description

The city of Windber is currently seeking a Department Head (m/f/d) for the Department of Education, Family, and Sports to start as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include:

Managing the department with a current staff of 22 employees
Budget planning and responsibility
School development planning, school needs planning, and sports development planning
Providing support and advice to schools on fundamental matters
Leading, managing, and further developing the Windber School Association
Overseeing cultural affairs (library, adult education center, city archives, city partnerships)
Leading the digital transformation of school infrastructure
Managing matters related to kindergarten planning, seniors, and youth

We expect the following from you:

Completed training as a Verwaltungsfachangestellte (administrative assistant) with a focus on municipal administration and completion of the 2nd civil service examination or qualification for the 2nd entry level in the general services department or a degree in business administration (Bachelor of Arts) or a degree in public administration (Bachelor of Arts)
