BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:


Under the direction of the Director of Programs the Program Innovation Leader will be responsible for the daily operation of their assigned program.

The Program Innovation Leader reports to the Director of Programs.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:


  • Maintain current accurate records of program activities.
  • Conduct meetings with participants as required, but not limited to annual meetings.
  • Prepare and complete written reports on participant progress, meetings, daily logs, attendance logs, and incidents.
  • Responsible for following safety procedures and for reporting all incidents.
  • Responsible for contacting parents and regional centers for any participant issues. Documentation of contact is necessary and required.
  • Assist/train the Direct Care Providers to understand their role, expectations and responsibilities in the program.
  • Plan daily activities that follow a person-centered approach and support the participant's individual program goals.
  • Encourage participants to join activities while promoting individual choice and decision-making opportunities.
  • Attend departmental staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:


General:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a current California driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Can lift a minimum of 45lbs.
  • Strong communication, teambuilding and leadership skills
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

- _Team building_—Building the plan is a collaborative task, and the staff fosters a team environment. Team building keeps the group of individuals around the person in a

contributing, cohesive unit. The team of people is organized to work together cooperatively to meet the person's needs.
- _Strengths-based thinking_—Focus is on the positive attributes of a person, the process is person-led, and centered on strengths-based outcomes and positive attributes.
- _Active and reflective listening_—Facilitators use active listening throughout the planning process, giving their full attention, using body language and responses that demonstrate their consideration and understanding of what the speaker is communicating. The goal of active listening is to ensure the speaker feels heard and understood. Staff use reflective listening, paying special attention to the content, feelings, and meaning behind the message and reflecting back to the speaker to demonstrate understanding and clarify the message. The purpose of reflective listening is to act as a mirror or reflection of the speaker to optimize their communication.


Education:


  • Minimum Associate of Arts Degree and/or some college preferred. MUST have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have and maintain current Red Cross First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English; Spanish, preferred.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:


  • Monday
  • Friday 8:00am 4:30pm. Some weekends or evening as needed for special events/community events.
  • 403B available with employer 4% provided after employee puts in 6%.
