    Educational and Experience Requirement
  • Master's degree required. Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree preferred. Five years of demonstrated experience in higher education is required, seven years of experience is preferred, with administrative/supervisory experience in higher education. Experience with academic advising, student success initiatives, retention/persistence strategies, and intrusive outreach is required. Experience in strategic planning, grant writing and implementation, and educational assessment is preferred. Must have solid organizational and analytical skills to prioritize, take initiative, follow projects through to completion, and manage multiple tasks/projects. Must have excellent leadership, written communication, and public speaking skills, a demonstrated ability for collaboration, and be detailoriented. The ability to translate data report conclusions into usable information for decisionmaking and programs is preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
    Nature & Purpose of Position
  • Performs complex and highly advanced work overseeing the development and implementation of student success initiatives to increase student retention and graduation rates, and eliminate achievement gaps.
    Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with university leaders to align departmental operations and systems with the universities functional and strategic needs. Oversees academic advising, tutoring, academic recovery, and other undergraduate student success initiatives. Provides leadership to staff engaged in undergraduate student success. Provides leadership on budget planning and organizational needs. Works directly with senior campus leaders to develop, review, and oversee student success programs. Monitors student success literature and best practices at peer institutions. Reviews data and makes recommendations for new programs and enhancements to existing programs for the continuous improvement of student outcomes. Works collaboratively with campus partners on data collection, analysis, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Responsible for developing goals and performance measures for undergraduate student success initiatives. Represents the Provost & Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs on various committees and work groups (on and offcampus). Performs other related duties as assigned.
