Description

The purpose of this position is to provide direct coordination of all raw materials in to the plant and to provide direct involvement in cycle counting ALL materials (raw and finished goods) that we are warehousing.

The core responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the purchasing of raw materials and maintaining accurate inventories of those materials.

Other functions will provide direct involvement in setting up SKUs, BOMs, and routings of finished goods in order to have them costed appropriately.

The incumbent will also help provide continuity of the Logistics department when people are out or on vacation.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for regrind organization, weekly inventories, and implements systems to maintain organization
  • Implements & develops Kan-Ban systems
  • Responsible for daily raw material cycle counts
  • Responsible for daily finished goods cycle counts
  • Assists with all semiannual physical inventories
  • Responsible for purchasing raw materials and maintaining low inventory levels without running out of materials
  • Creates PO / STO requisitions and deals with vendorrelated issues
  • Works with corporate purchasing for costs saving opportunities
  • Investigates raw material variances, while working with production, and warehousing teams
  • Assist in storing raw materials as needed
  • Performs checks on colorant letdowns to ensure BOMs are being adhered to
  • Creates and sets up all SKUs, Routings, BOMs, and costs them in SAP
  • Determine safety stock levels on raw materials as needed and manages those levels in SAP
  • Assists with keeping all raw materials in a controlled, clean and organized environment.
  • Provides backup support for other logistic positions in the department when individuals are out of the office
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED


  • Computer skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Warehouse experience
  • Basic accounting skills a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Must be willing and able to operate a forklift truck after being certified to operate one.
  • Attention to detail extremely accurate
  • Organization skills / experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Excellent followthrough skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral form.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk.

The employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; bending, and talking or hearing.

The employee must occasionally push, pull, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Pay:
$50, $53,000.00 per year

Schedule:
