About This Role


This is a key role within the Manufacturing Team that will serve as the company's quality expert, creating and implementing quality processes along with hands-on participation in measurements and inspections on the factory floor.

This is a wide-ranging role from strategic corporate initiatives to problem solving on the shop floor.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Work with Manufacturing team to identify, prioritize, and implement quality processes;
  • Ensure that all employees are familiar with, trained on, and follow all Quality System procedures related to their jobs, which can affect the quality of products;
  • Respond to internal and external nonconformances by leading root cause investigations and ensuring closure within an acceptable timeframe;
  • Ensure internal quality audits are thorough and carried out in a timely fashion;
  • Develop quality awareness programs and appropriate metrics to improve product and process quality;
  • Reduce the occurrence of manufacturing errors;
  • When required, provide support to Supply Chain or Engineering in the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, items, or equipment from a quality standpoint. This can include assisting with issue resolution, site surveys, and risk assessments;
  • Improve awareness of quality throughout the business;
  • Provide assistance necessary to perform rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with engineering standards;
  • Investigate customer reported nonconformances and drive resolution;
  • Advocate as the "voice of the customer". Collaborate with senior leaders to set the highest quality standards across the organization and ensure that the highest standards are achieved consistently;
  • Foster a culture of interest, curiosity, and learning within the organization;
  • Adherence to all company policies, including health and safety protocols.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering;
  • Certification in Quality, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are an asset;
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience, ideally in a highmix, low volume manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in an electrical equipment manufacturing environment or machine shop is desirable;
  • Handson experience measuring mechanical components;
  • Experience with ISO9001/ISO14001 Environmental and Quality Management Systems;
  • An appreciation and passion for mitigating the environmental impacts of manufacturing (products, processes, packaging, recycling, energy conservation, etc);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present ideas clearly to all levels;
  • Strong analytic problemsolving capabilities;
  • Proven track record in implementing new processes, equipment and tooling;
  • Demonstrates initiative and a passion for achieving results;
  • Resourceful, innovative and energetic;
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:


  • Must be legally authorized to work in USA without company sponsorship;
  • Must be able to travel to international destinations; must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel;
  • This role is located in an office environment, with regular visits to the manufacturing environment.
