Description

As the Weld Director at Lynch Brothers Manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in leading our welding team to new heights of performance and excellence.

This is a dynamic player-coach role, requiring hands-on involvement in welding processes while also providing strategic leadership and guidance to the team.


Responsibilities:

Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of welders to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety in all welding operations.

Hands-on Involvement: Demonstrate expertise in resistance welding, orbital welding, fusion welding, and brazing by actively participating in welding activities alongside the team.

Compliance: Act as a pseudo compliance officer, ensuring strict adherence to Nadcap certification requirements, AWS D17.1, D17.2, Mil specs, and other relevant standards and specifications.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements in welding operations. Implement best practices and innovative techniques to continuously improve performance.

Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control measures to ensure that all welded components meet or exceed customer specifications and industry standards.

Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the welding team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as production, and quality assurance to coordinate welding activities and achieve organizational objectives.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding processes, inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation.


Qualifications:


  • Experience in resistance welding, orbital welding, fusion welding, and brazing.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a welding or fabrication setting.
  • Strong understanding of Nadcap certification requirements, AWS D17.1, D17.2, Mil specifications, and other relevant standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
  • Certification(s) in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields is a plus.
