We are seeking an individual who is excited for the following opportunity: this position is responsible for the leadership and management of the service department and its customers.

It includes the day-to-day leading, developing and managing all positions within the department and for meeting service sales, gross margin, and service goals.

Additionally, it includes leading, developing and maintaining systems for quality controls financial accountability of the service department revenue and profitability.

Success in this role required someone who maintains excellent working relationships and open lines of communication between service employees, internal and external departments, customers, and vendors.


Specifically, this position will...

  • Champion a "Safety First", "Customer Focused" and a "Continuous improvement" culture.
  • Enforce and adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
  • Maintain excellent customer and employee relations.
  • Work safely at all times; adhering to all VCES safety guidelines, policies, and practices.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Overall operation and management of the service department employees thru integrity, teamwork, customer responsiveness, and profitable decision making.
  • Assure diagnosis and scheduled repair work are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Timely followup of customer all calls, including concerns and complaints.
  • Oversee all work orders for accuracy in billing pricing information.
  • Oversee department safety initiative and certify safety procedures are followed.
  • Accountable for financial for the profitability of department.
  • Ensure all personnel are adequately trained for their positions, provided a clean, safe work environment, and have the tools to complete their jobs successfully.
  • Review branch performance with the Operations Manager on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Responsible for all tools and equipment in shop and yard.
  • Accountable for service fleet, including maintenance and mitigation against damage, theft, or misuse.
  • Responsible for enforcement and training of DOT, MSHA, Cal/OSHA, FLSA and other applicable regulations requirements.
  • Responsible for DOT compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

In this role, you will bring the following:

Required Knowledge, Experience, and Education:


  • 5 to 6 years of experience in service or related field.
  • 3 to 4 years of management experience, highly recommended.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Some college experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry, highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.

Additional Important Requirements:


  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Focused problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Some local travel required.
