Shift:
Night Shift (6:00 PM to 2:30 AM), Monday - Friday


Pay Rate:
$18.50/hr (OT eligible)


Job Summary:

Moore College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Night Custodian to join our team.

This position involves maintaining a clean and safe environment during non-business hours while supervising and guiding a team of night custodians.

The role requires a combination of hands-on cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as leadership and organizational skills to ensure the efficient operation of the night custodial team.


Key Responsibilities:


Cleaning and Sanitization:


  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms.
  • Refill restroom supplies as needed (toilet paper, soap, etc.).
  • Empty and sanitize trash bins.
  • Clean windows and mirrors.
  • Disinfect frequentlytouched surfaces.

Trash Removal:


  • Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials.
  • Handle hazardous materials with care and according to safety guidelines.

Maintenance:


  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly stored and maintained.

Leadership and Supervision:


  • Train and mentor new night custodians.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to the night custodial team.
  • Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback.
  • Address any performance issues or conflicts within the team.
  • Ensure that all team members adhere to safety and cleaning protocols.

Compliance:


  • Adhere to all safety and cleaning standards and protocols.
  • Comply with any relevant regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves extensive physical activity, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying. The Lead Night Custodian should be capable of performing tasks that require moderate to heavy physical effort.


Working Conditions:


  • Night shift with the potential for weekend and holiday work.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Occasional exposure to inclement weather when performing outdoor duties.
  • Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.

Additional Notes:


The Lead Night Custodian is a working supervisor, meaning they will be expected to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks alongside their team.
