Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team Staff nurses are responsible for pre-op and recovery assessments as well as in the operating rooms of our ambulatory surgical center.
This position would be on a set weekly schedule on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for 12hr shifts -
no weekends, no major holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to patients for cataract, retina, and other eye surgeries.
- During patient intake: check room for needed supplies and prepare room for specific patient and procedure, and assure permit is signed and correct.
- Assist with proper positioning, using pads, rolls, pillows as necessary for best comfort.
- Maintain O.R. records, charges, and patient chart.
- Oversee maintenance of sterile technique, obtain and record all medication administered, and control the "tone" of the operating room.
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior. Recognize and respond appropriately to code arrest and implement CPR techniques under the direct supervision of the physician in charge of the patient.
- Assist in restocking room supplies, cleaning the O.R. between cases, ordering supplies, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
- Currently registered by the Arizona Board of Nursing
- Current BLS certification, ACLS certification within 6 months of hire date
- Familiarity with medical software and equipment
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment
