Job Goal:

The Marketing Coordinator oversees, coordinates, and accomplishes the district's community outreach, engagement, and marketing/promotional objectives.

The coordinator organizes strategic marketing and outreach supporting the district programs, services, and products to reach the student/parent/staff communities and the public at-large.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing communications, journalism or related discipline
  • Four years of progressive experience in marketing broadcast communications, community relations, and/or advertising
  • Ability to successfully lead and supervise media production professionals
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with standard software programs
  • Working knowledge of marketing communications, video, media branding, social media and public information concepts
  • Project management skills
  • Must possess valid driver's license

Core Job Functions:


  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates marketing and creative media services that can be used to outreach and keep the community engaged and informed. Uses best practices to aggressively market the District to prospective and current students, families, and alumni.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and implements programs of marketing that are aimed at parent, student, and community engagement, and promoting the academic and social image of the District.
  • Advances the District's image and 'branding'.
  • Facilitates outreach programs to ensure presence at District and community events, conferences, schools, and public meetings.
  • Provides support to the Executive Director and District administrators on delivering effective marketing.
  • Works with Communications Media Manager to gather information from the departments, school sites, and individuals for use in preparing marketing material promoting the District.
  • Develops, reviews, edits, and directs production of a wide variety of marketing materials, including fact sheets, brochures, reports, advertising, and live and taped broadcasting via television and web sites.
  • Develops and implements campaigns and strategies to enhance visibility with enrollment of students. Seeks out partnerships with businesses as a way to market the District.
  • Prepares and sequences processes, schedules, and material layouts in support of events that are setup by others such as and not limited to fairs, ceremonies, and contests.
  • The position requires specialized knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of public information, branding, messaging, community outreach strategies.
  • Requires working knowledge of effective strategies and methods used for student and staff recruitment and retention.
  • Requires knowledge of departmental and project sequencing, budgeting techniques, and management.
  • Requires working knowledge of the principles of supervision, including performance measurement.
  • Requires advanced skill at using computeraided tools for graphics and desktop publishing for data management, imaging, and to deliver messaging and presentations.
  • Requires advanced written and oral language and human relations skills to influence internal and external customers, make formal presentations, conduct training, and to manage the performance of others.
  • Requires sufficient math skills to perform basic business financial calculations and statistical analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Physical Requirements
Incumbent must be able to function indoors and outdoors engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to move about office and grounds environs and locations. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time to accomplish deskwork.
