Excellent Administrative Secretary - Human Resource.


Job Summary The Human Resource Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the HR department in various administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions within New Milford Public Schools. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding:


  • Assist in coordinating the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Prepare and distribute offer letters, employment contracts, and new hire paperwork.
  • Conduct orientations for new hires, providing them with an overview of policies, benefits, and procedures.

Employee Records and Documentation:


  • Maintain accurate and uptodate employee records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Process personnel action forms and update HR databases as necessary.
  • Ensure that all employee files are organized, confidential, and stored securely.

Policy Compliance and Reporting:


  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, attendance, and compliance.

Leave Administration:


  • Using Aesop work with the district Benefits Specialist to manage and track employee leaves, including FMLA, sick leave, and vacation time.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations regarding leave.

Employee Relations:


  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide general HR information.
  • Assist in resolving minor employee issues or redirecting them to the appropriate parties.

Training and Development:


  • Maintain records of employee training and development activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a Human Resources capacity.
  • Knowledge of
    MUNIS a plus.
  • Knowledge of FrontLine Suite
  • Applitrack, FrontLine Central, Aesop and Applitrack a plus
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Highly organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

$ $22.33 per hour
